January is often a time when people are reflecting on the past year and setting goals for the new year (or for some, beating themselves up for what they didn't do last year, and some stating that they're never going to set goals again!). But setting goals is really about making choices. Choosing to continue on the same path or choosing a new direction. It can be specific choices like choosing to start your own business, choosing to do your business more often, choosing social and recreational activities to take part in and so on. Or it can be less tangible like setting your intention to have more ease in your life, more money, more time for yourself etc. and being open to the opportunities that support this.

Tonight’s conference call is dedicated to my beautiful wife Shanee’! Many of you may have been wondering, that have been around a while, where has Shanee’ been. Usually she introduces me on every Sunday night motivational call and travels with me as we do business across the US. But for the last 4 months, she has been “missing in action”. She hasn’t retired early nor did she decide to stop pursing this great opportunity. In fact, after tonight she is back in full effect!
As everyone has goals and to-dos on life’s list, so do we. After dating for 3 and ½ years and being married for 1 year, neither of us finished college. I would have a much longer time to finish my degree, but she only had 1 more semester. After building a home, purchasing new vehicles, making a few investments, and before making additions to our family, we set a goal for Shanee’ to get her college degree. People often ask me how I became successful in this 7 year period of time while many of the people I knew did not. The answer is simple: The things I found to be easy to do, they found to be easy not to do.
I found it easy to set the goals that could change my life. They found it easy not to. I found it easy to read the books that could affect my thinking and my ideas. They found that easy not to. I found it easy to attend the classes and the seminars, and to get around other successful people. They said it probably really wouldn't matter.
If I had to sum it up, I would say what I found to be easy to do, they found to be easy not to do. Six years later, I'm a million dollar producer and they are all still blaming the economy, the government and company policies, yet they neglected to do the basic, easy things.
